Its fun for a couple hours and then your just going through the stages but nothing changes, you just get better houses etc but for no real reason. Hopefully this game will get more content soon so i will be able to reccomend.. Concept good, gameplay is solid and bug free. Way too easy. This game could be as good as banished if it were just difficult, its kindof a slog with no real challenge. Relaxing though.. While an enjoyable sim, it is not particularly interesting in the long term. Combat is mob. Defenses are knocked down with a couple of spears. Workload management is poorly implemented. It is good for 16 hours or so play, so if you want to kill a few days, and want to kick back doing other things while it runs, then it is fine. Just get it on sale.. I wanted to like this game. But they will hunt and kill something and have 3 open inventory spaces and only bring back 1 meat or bone while leaving the rest on the ground. There is also issues with reassigning a task doesnt work and that is infuriating when you only have 7 pops. I like to micromanage, but not like this. I also could not get tanning to function, until i purchased leather from the trader, in what i assumed reset the variable for that action and the pops began to work the que. Too many bugs.. Dawn of man is an interesting and addictive game that will eat up a lot of your hours. However it does have it's quirks. The biggest is that the UI is lacking in info. For instance: you can't tell how much one citizen is consuming (per-season) of food and other resources. When selecting a bunch of trees to cut down with double click, you can't always tell "set the cut order". Moreover you don't have a precise control of what is being done at what time. Every citizen is doing everything in certain intervals. You can set priorities but, you don't know how that will affect the outcome. Also there are problems finding megaliths on the map, once you have set a task of mining them out. There should be an easier way to find them. The biggest quirk is the placements of farms and walls. That is just not good. But never the less, the game does bring joy and excitement to the player. The biggest novelty is the way the game runs and how it plays. Despite all the quirks, I would recommend it to anyone who is in to strategies. The biggest plus I see is that it has bug potential for future DLS's and I am hoping that they will only improve the game in the future. :). It's okay but not great. Gets pretty boring after a bit. There's little challenge even at the very beginning, There's no attachment to the pawns - they're completely interchangeable. If one dies, you'll just get another soon. The controls and interface are clunky.. Well i like the game but it feels unfinished and some what lacking in some areas. Like your animals will goble up all your straw, the straw you need for repairs and building towers despite that your animals do eat grain as well. The game just dont give you the player the options needed to properly take control. Some times wild animals will wander into your village, early on this is fine but as your village grows it become strange in the end to see wild animals walk into your town to attack the player. Raids help switch up the gameplay a bit, setting up a defense seems to work pretty good, but towers go down pretty fast to small numbers of raiders making it cheaper to keep gates open and just charge your attackers.I really liked growing my village, farming crops, managing animals and placing down walls, gates and towers. I have yet to reach the final age and the developer might fix the straw issue so i will keep playing this for a while even tho there is limited content here.
